Charlie Haden's Barbican weekend

One-time Ornette Coleman, Pat Metheny and Keith Jarrett sideman Charlie Haden is at the Barbican in London for a special weekend residency, 21-22 May.

His bass underpins his Quartet West (featuring saxophonist Ernie Watts and guest singers) in material showcasing his Sophisticated Ladies CD on 21 May. Then he leads a transatlantic version of his Liberation Music Orchestra on 22 May with Tony Malaby, Jason Yarde, Andy Sheppard and John Parricelli among others.
