BBC seeks greatest jazz artist




The pop-up radio station BBC Music Jazz is inviting the public to vote for their favourite jazz artist among the 50 nominated by its panel

As part of BBC Music Jazz, the pop-up digital jazz radio station which airs 12-15 November, the public are being invited to vote for their favourite from the 50 Greatest Jazz Artists selected by a panel of BBC jazz presenters, Jazz FM presenters, jazz musicians, critics and journalists. The artists are pictured right and listed, along with musical excerpts, on this BBC Playlist.

Voting opened on Tuesday 6 October and closes at 8pm on Thursday 22 October. The final results will be revealed in a show on BBC Music Jazz called The 50 Greatest Jazz Artists, presented by BBC Radio 3's Geoffrey Smith and guest presenter Helen Mayhew from Jazz FM at 4pm each day from 12th to 15th November.
