Clark Tracey to run Bell, Codicote

The Bell in Codicote, a place of legend in home-counties jazzlore, is once again to feature jazz. In the 1970s and early 80s, The Bell resonated to the sounds of musicians ranging from Tubby Hayes to Sonny Stitt and Mark Murphy.

Now drummer Clark Tracey is to run the venue and has booked a first-class programme for its first two months: Stan Tracey Quartet featuring Bobby Wellins (2 May), The 3 Tenors: Weller, Themen & Lockett (9), Alan Barnes/Alex Garnett Quintet (16), Curios, featuring Tom Cawley (23), Bruce Adams/Karen Sharp Quintet (30), Clark Tracey Sextet, featuring Paul Jordanous and Kit Downes (6 June), Geoff Gascoyne’s Pop Bop, featuring Jim Mullen (13),  Mark Nightingale Quartet (20) and Jim Mullen Trio (27).
