Club Montmartre to reopen

The Jazzhus Montmartre, home-from-home in the 1960s and 70s for Ben Webster, Stan Getz, Dexter Gordon and others, is to reopen on 1 May under the supervision of pianist Niels Lan Doky (musical director) and Rune Bech (managing director).

British filmmaker Riz Merchant will oversee the styling of the club, at its famous old address, Store Regnegade (‘Great Rain
Street’), and will be general manager in the initial stages. She is also to make a documentary about the club’s revival.

The opening programme will be announced 6 April. More information from Jazzhus Montmartre, Store Regnegade 19A, 1110 Copenhagen K and www.jazzhusmontmartre.dk.
