Janisch brings Jason Palmer, sax summit and Konitz to Pizza

The tireless Michael Janisch continues his 'MJ Presents' nights at the Pizza Express, Dean St, London (08456 027 017) with more appearances by leading American and UK players.

The spring season features Jason Palmer (t), Jeff Ballard (d) and Julian Siegel (ts) (15 & 16 March), A Tribute To The Saxophone Summit, with Nigel Hitchcock, Joel Frahm, Alex Garnett (s), Ross Stanley (p) and Steve Brown (d) and focusing on the repertoire of the great saxophone teams of the straightahead school together with original compositions (21 & 22 April), and Lee Konitz (as) with Dan Tepfer (p) (19 & 20 May). The Konitz evenings will consist of two 90-minute houses. 

Other Dean St Pizza events include Laurie Holloway Trio (4-6) and guests including Kenny Lynch (5), US baritone-players Gary Smulyan & Pete Lukas (8), US vocalist and pianist Daryl Sherman with Dave Cliff and Andy Cleyndert (11), Jim Mullen Organ Trio (lunch, 28) and Kenny Wheeler with Stan Sulzmann, John Parricelli, Chris Laurence and Martin France (30-31).
