Wigmore wigs out

Jazz from pianist Brad Mehldau and bassist Christian McBride features in the London venue's 2015/2016 season

London's Wigmore Hall is well known for its classical performances but it has long featured jazz concerts and the trend continues in the 2015/16 season announced at a lunchtime presentation, 10 February 2015.

Two evenings of solo piano featuring Brad Mehldau are scheduled for Thursday 17 and Friday 18 December 2015, and further ahead, bass virtuoso Christian McBride appears in concert with his trio on Friday 18 March 2016 and Friday 8 July 2016.

For Wigmore enthusiasts unable to wait until December, there are several jazz dates lined-up for the current 2014-15 season including the Brass Jaw saxophone quartet on 11 March 2015, Trish Clowes (saxophone) and Gwilym Simcock (piano) plus the Heath (string) Quartet on 15 May 2015 (this including a rare performance of Norma Winstone and John Taylor's Enjoy This Day) and the Christian McBride trio on 5 June 2015.

The Wigmore Hall now has a new website which can be found here: wigmore-hall.org.uk
