Danish winter warmer




Denmark's annual jazz celebration Vinterjazz takes place across more than 100 venues with artists including Brad Mehldau, John Scofield, Marius Neset and Palle Mikkelborg

The 15th Vinterjazz Danish music festival runs from 6-22 February offering over 450 concerts in more than 100 venues across the country. It has been brought together by 25 independent organisers and promises a wide choice of artists in the biggest selection of venues yet.

Headliners include international stars Brad Mehldau, John Scofield and DR Big Band, Cristina Branco, Konono No.1, Azymuth, Ólafur Arnalds, Orlando Julius & The Heliocentrics, Chicago Underground Duo, Marius Neset and the Brussels Jazz Orchestra.

A special feature will be groups mixing international and Danish artists such as The Music of Ornette Coleman & Prime Time featuring Jamaaladeen Tacuma & Kresten Osgood, Jakob Bro, Nancy Harms & Jakob Park Trio, Løvdal/ Parks/ Mazur/ Hovman, Dorado & Amati Schmitt Quintette, Carsten Dahl featuring Rogers & Hutchinson, Lars Jansson Trio and Niels Vincentz Quartet featuring Billy Hart.

Also appearing are renowned Danish artists such as Sinne Eeg, The Cabin Project, Broken Twin, Hess/AC/Hess, Girls In Airports, and Marilyn Mazur's Future Song.

In addition there will be a special Vinterjazz concert with Alex Riel and Stefan Pasborg featuring Annisette (Savage Rose), Palle Mikkelborg (pictured) & Ibrahim Electric.

The collaboration between venues, organisers, musicians provides the opportunity to see international stars on tour as well experience award-winning Danish projects. The full programme is available at www.jazz.dk.
