London Jazz Festival on Radio 3
Selected concerts from the EFG London Jazz Festival will air on BBC Radio 3 this November, including the launch from Ronnie Scott's with Stanley Clarke
A number of concerts from this month’s 10-day EFG London Jazz Festival are to be aired on BBC Radio 3 as part of the new “BBC Music” strategy, said to represent the BBC’s strongest commitment to music in 30 years.
The concerts (some live, some recorded) are as follows: Jazz Voice (14 November, R3), EFG London Jazz Festival Launch from Ronnie Scott’s, including music from Stanley Clarke Quartet, Karin Krog and John Surman (14 Nov, R3), the Branford Marsalis Quartet at QEH (17 Nov, R3), the Jazz Line-Up Stage at the Southbank, hosted by Claire Martin and Julian Joseph and including music from Christine Tobin, Ollie Howell, Andy Sheppard + Guillaume de Chassy and The Blue Notes (22 Nov, R3) and Hyperactive Kid and Starlight at The Vortex (24 Nov, R3).
A number of other regular BBC radio events, such as Jazz Record Requests, will be tied in with the festival.
