First names for EFG London Jazz Festival

Tickets are now on sale for some of the first shows in the EFG London Jazz Festival, including Guy Barker and Branford Marsalis

The London Jazz Festival, now known as the EFG London Jazz Festival, returns this autumn for its 24th year running, with its usual 10 days of jazz across the capital from Friday 14 to Sunday 23 November 2014.

The first acts confirmed to play at the festival have now been announced, including Guy Barker (pictured) with the BBC Concert Orchestra, Branford Marsalis, Abdullah Ibrahim and Bill Frisell. Tickets for this first batch of acts are now on sale at efglondonjazzfestival.co.uk.

Lauded as “one of the best jazz festivals in the world” by The Guardian, the festival will again be produced by Serious who created the festival out of Camden Jazz Week in 1992 and whose aim is “celebrating the place of jazz in a city which is at ease with its rich cultural diversity, and drawing in a multitude of venues across London”.

Other confirmed acts include John Surman, Snarky Puppy, the Tomasz Stanko New York Quartet, Dan Tepfer and Chucho Valdés.
