Robert Glasper live at the Apollo

Texan musical polyglot Robert Glasper will play a one-off concert at the London Hammersmith Apollo next March

Pianist Robert Glasper will return to London next spring, in a one-off show "with friends" at the London Hammersmith Apollo on Wednesday 12 March 2014.

The concert follows his sold-out appearance at the Royal Festival Hall for the 2012 London Jazz Festival, which was reviewed by JJ's Francis Graham-Dixon. This year Glasper has performed a set at the Love Supreme Festival in July, had a headline billing at the iTunes Festival in September, and secured a Grammy win for his fifth studio album Black Radio for Best R&B Album.

Glasper's follow-up to Black Radio, Black Radio 2, is out on Blue Note on 29 October, and again draws from a mixed palette of jazz, hip-hop, R&B, soul and rock.

The première of his video for the haunting Black Radio 2 track Calls, featuring Jill Scott, is also now viewable on Vevo.

Tickets for the concert are expected to sell out quickly and can be purchased from hammersmithapollo.com for between £10 and £30 plus a booking fee.
