The Jazz Cruise 2014

Next year's 13th annual Jazz Cruise sailing from Florida features Gregory Porter, Arturo Sandoval, Kurt Elling, Wycliffe Gordon and many more

Marking its 13th year sailing the Caribbean, The Jazz Cruise next January will feature a typically packed line-up, including Gregory Porter, Arturo Sandoval, Kurt Elling, Randy Brecker and Wycliffe Gordon.

The cruise departs Fort Lauderdale, Florida on 26 January 2014, making stops at Turks Caicos, San Juan, St. Maarten and Half Moon Cay in the Bahamas before returning to Fort Lauderdale on 2 February.

Along the way, guests can enjoy a feast of jazz entertainment such as rising Californian vocalist Gregory Porter, who will play with his quartet. Since the release of his second album, Be Good, in February 2012, Porter has met with critical acclaim far and wide; not least from Jazz Journal's own Andy Hamilton, who found his performance at the Bergamo Jazz Festival in March 2013 to be one of "staggering virtuosity and commitment".

Other confirmed acts include trumpeter Arturo Sandoval, vocalist Kurt Elling and his Quartet, trumpeter Randy Brecker, and Gospel Show Host Wycliffe Gordon. The full and extensive line-up can be viewed here.

The Jazz Cruise ship, of the Holland American Line, can hold up to 2,140 passengers. Classically decorated suites  feature such luxuries as private verandahs and whirlpool baths. There's also a range of dining options onboard.
