Hidden Rendell

A mixed box of LPs donated to the Red Cross charity shop in Wimbourne this summer turned out to have a hidden value. The records were put out for sale at £3 each. Among the selection was Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles and Bruce Springsteen, but, unknown to the shop manager, the box also contained some rather more valuable items. A local valuer came in and unveiled 'Change Is' (priced around £200) and 'Shades of Blue' by the Don Rendell and Ian Carr Quintet (£750). The records have since been bought by collectors as far afield as Scotland, earning £1200 for the Red Cross.
