A selection of Jazz Journal's renowned record reviews are posted online every month as a taste of the scores of reviews published monthly in the print edition. This and previous months' reviews can be viewed under the Reviews tab.

Jazz Journal's online reviews follow the same format established in print several decades ago, featuring the detailed information so prized by dedicated collectors. This includes full discograpical information, including tracklisting, personnels, date, location and catalogue number.

Jazz Journal publishes some 20,000 words of jazz record review every month, ranging across all styles and periods and giving equal weight to new and reissued material.

Over 100 CDs per month are submitted for consideration of review to a panel of 30 reviewers including such authoritative commentators as Simon Adams, Derek Ansell, Ronald Atkins, John Robert Brown, Bruce Crowther, Peter Gamble, Mark Gardner, Fred Grand, Andy Hamilton, Gordon Jack, Barry McRae, Alun Morgan, Brian Morton, Richard Palmer, Anthony Troon, Michael Tucker, Steve Voce, Bob Weir, Bert Whyatt and Barry Witherden, all with several decades' experience of jazz record reviewing.

As well as a comprehensive record review section, Jazz Journal carries DVD and book reviews, live reviews, news, in-depth features on jazz players, styles and topics, thought-provoking columns from venerated writers such as Steve Voce and Alan Luff and two pages of readers' letters, with more reader comment online under Forum.
