TRUDY TOURS

TRUDY TOURS

Australian-born but London-based vocalist Trudy Kerr tours with Ingrid James, her Australian singing buddy from 20 years ago, this month. The pair arrive following three weeks of gigs in their Antipodean home territory and have an engaging new CD, Reunion, on offer (see review on page 27 of Jazz Journal September), rich with tunes from Chick Corea, Bob Dorough, Baden Powell, Gerry Mulligan, Carole King and others. Using skype technology, the girls rehearsed from opposite ends of the globe before recording in July 2009. They'll be here in person and spirit for their UK tour, accompanied by various lineups including Tom Cawley, Robin Aspland, Geoff Gascoyne and Seb de Krom.
