Preview: Swansea Jazz Festival
The fourth Swansea International Jazz Festival presents over 50 events, including a 14-piece band from Strictly Come Dancing playing Earth, Wind & Fire
The 2017 Swansea International Jazz Festival, which runs from Thursday 15 to Sunday 18 June, brings some of the biggest names on the UK jazz scene to south Wales in a series of over 50 concerts, workshops and other events. Headline acts include Ruby Turner (pictured right), the Remi Harris Trio, the Stan Tracey Legacy Octet and All Fired Up! - a 14-piece band of musicians and vocalists from BBC's Strictly Come Dancing playing the music of Earth, Wind & Fire.
The festival, programmed by creative director Dave Cottle, is supported by the Arts Council of Wales and the City and County of Swansea and sponsored once again by Prescott Jones Insurance Solutions: the festival patron is Sir Karl Jenkins. Ed Prescott, managing director of Prescott Jones, commented: "We relish our continued support for an event which we think adds a lot to the Swansea cultural scene".
