Preview: EFG London Jazz Festival




EFG London Jazz Festival announces the first of this year's shows, including the Wayne Shorter Quartet, the MCA Power Trio and Christian Scott

The 2016 EFG London Jazz Festival, produced by Serious, has released details of some of this year's artists. The festival is returning for the 24th year and will run from Friday 11 November to Sunday 20 November. As usual, the festival programme will take place in an extensive range of venues across London as it brings major international jazz stars to the city.

The first wave of concerts is as follows:

Joshua Redman / Brad Mehldau Duo - Saturday 12 November - Barbican

Lizz Wright - Saturday 12 November - Cadogan Hall

Tord Gustavsen - Saturday 12 November - Barbican / Milton Court

Jan Garbarek Group featuring Trilko Gurtu - Sunday 13 November - Royal Festival Hall

The Bad Plus - Sunday 13 November - Scala

Aziza (Chris Potter - pictured left, Lionel Loueke, Dave Holland, Eric Harland) - Tuesday 15 November - Cadogan Hall

Christian Scott - Wednesday 16 November - Scala

MCA Power Trio (David Murray, Terri Lyne Carrington, Geri Allen) - Saturday 19 November - Cadogan Hall

Wayne Shorter Quartet - Sunday 20 November - Barbican
