Among the attractions at Ronnie Scott's (47 Frith Street, London W1D 4HT, 020 7439 0747) is Women In Jazz Week (in celebration of International Women's Day) with Norma Winstone, Nikki Iles, Annie Whitehead, Rachel Z, Bobbi Humphrey, Emilia Martensson, Frøy Aagre, Karen Sharp and others (March 8-13). The club also has some blokes and at least one mixed band: Jack Bruce and the Ronnie Scott's Blues Experience (1-2), Guy Barker Orchestra with Guy's jazz take on The Magic Flute (3-4), Guy Barker Orchestra in contemporary mode (5-6), Gilad Atzmon doing Charlie Parker with strings (15-16), James Taylor Quartet (17-20), Digby Fairweather & Friends including Karen Sharp (lunch, 21), Kevin Mahogany Quintet feat. Cyrus Chestnut (22–23), Trinity College of Music Big Band and presentation of the first Dankworth Prize for Jazz Composition (24), Ravi Coltrane (29-30) and Chucho Valdés (31).
